Joel Embiid, Center, Philadelphia 76ers: 90 OVR (+1)
Welcome back to the 90 OVR club, Joel Embiid. The former MVP appears to have regained his elite form at the mid-point of the 2025-2026 regular season, after battling injuries for much of last year.
Through 26 games this season, Embiid has already eclipsed his total games played (19) from the 2024-2025 campaign. It’s clear the 76ers coaching staff wants to preserve Embiid’s health for a postseason run—he’s currently averaging 30.5 minutes per game—but he’s been efficient and highly productive when on the court. Over the last two weeks, the seven-time All-Star is averaging 32.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. Hopefully the dominant big man can stay healthy, because the league is more fun when he’s on the court.
Cooper Flagg, Guard, Dallas Mavericks: 86 OVR (+1)
While LeBron James has reigned over the NBA for more than two decades now, rookie Cooper Flagg’s recent ascent signals the dawn of a new era.
On December 15, 2025, Flagg broke James’ record for the most points scored by an 18-year-old in NBA history with 42 points against the Utah Jazz. Since then, Flagg has shown improved confidence in his scoring and playmaking, with nine 20-point games in the last month. Unfortunately, his impressive stretch of performances experienced a brief hiccup after he tweaked his ankle, but he’s back on the mend and ready to resume his Rookie of the Year campaign.
Trey Murphy III, Forward, New Orleans Pelicans: 86 OVR (+2)
Trey Murphy III is one of the most overlooked players in the Association, despite averaging 21.9 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. As the New Orleans Pelicans navigate a transitional period, Murphy is a cornerstone piece of the organization that it can build its identity around.
Murphy boasts positional versatility, thanks to his 6’9” frame and lengthy 7’ wingspan. He uses his size advantage on the defensive end as a vertical stopper, capable of guarding myriad positions. His defense and three-point shooting are his foundation, but he’s built playmaking and ball-handling into his game in an effort to become a more well-rounded player. As he further hones his skills, his impact and NBA 2K rating should increase.
