VS
FEATURED PLAYERS
Jaylen Brown, Forward, Boston Celtics: 93 OVR (+1)
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have always been viewed as a dynamic duo, operating as an interchangeable 1A and 1B for the Celtics; however, after Tatum’s devastating injury during the NBA Playoffs last year, Brown’s been forced to carry more of an offensive load this season.
Now the driving force on offense, the 2024 NBA Finals MVP is averaging a career-high in scoring with 29.3 points per game. During the last two weeks, Brown has upped his contribution with 31 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. The Celtics have plenty of playmakers, including do-it-all guard Derrick White and last year’s Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard, but much of the team’s success is fueled by Brown.
Stephon Castle, Guard, San Antonio Spurs: 86 OVR (+2)
The San Antonio Spurs have an abundance of talent at the guard position, with veteran De’Aaron Fox, rookie Dylan Harper, and sophomore phenom Stephon Castle.
Selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Castle is a foundational piece of what the Spurs are trying to build, with Victor Wembanyama as the primary pillar. Castle’s physicality, speed, and agility help him excel at creating separation and finishing at the rim. He’s a natural scorer, averaging 23.3 points, an eye-popping 7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game over the last two weeks.
Even with all of the talent around him, Castle is thriving as a featured part of the Spurs’ offense.
Derik Queen, Forward, New Orleans Pelicans: 82 OVR (+2)
When the New Orleans Pelicans traded the No. 23 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and a future first-round pick for Derik Queen, pundits around the league raised an eyebrow at the costly transaction; however, since taking over as the Pelicans’ starting center in November, the rookie has showed why he was worth a pair of first-round picks.
Over the last two weeks, Queen is averaging 14.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.4 assist, and one block per game. Against the San Antonio Spurs on December 8, the 20-year-old became the fifth rookie in the last 30 years, joining Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin, Luka Dončić, and Austin Reaves, to post a 30-point triple-double, dropping 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a historic performance.
