NBA 2K25 UPDATED PLAYER RATINGS 11.07
The NBA is back—and so are NBA 2K Player Ratings! The NBA 2K Player Ratings are the official source for all news and updates about in-game adjustments. We’re eager to kick off a new year of Player Ratings for NBA 2K25, providing you with recurring updates on all of your favorite NBA superstars throughout the course of the 2024-2025 NBA regular season.
Through two weeks of regular season action, we’ve already got a trio of perennial All-Stars making a very early case for MVP honors: NBA 2K25 cover star Jayson Tatum, former NBA champion Anthony Davis, and former MVP Kevin Durant. Let’s dive into their hot starts to the season.
Jayson Tatum, Forward, Boston Celtics
96 OVR (+1)
Fresh off of his first NBA championship in June, Jayson Tatum continued his golden summer by winning a gold medal in Paris with Team USA Basketball, and it looks like he’s carried that momentum into the start of the regular season. Through eight games, Tatum led his Boston Celtics squad to a 7-1 record, averaging 30 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game in the process. The former No. 3 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft is certainly delivering on his potential, and there’s still plenty of room for him to grow. As long as Tatum is a Celtic, they’re a safe bet to be a championship contender.
Anthony Davis, Forward/Center, Los Angeles Lakers
96 OVR (+2)
If you had a high draft pick in your fantasy basketball league this year, here's hoping you didn’t pass on Anthony Davis. During the introductory press conference from new Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach JJ Redick back in late June, Redick made it clear that he wanted to run the team’s offense through AD—and so far he’s been a man of his word. Davis has always been a talented scorer and dominant defender, but he looks like a man possessed with four of the past seven games tallying at least 35 points. The Lakers’ big man is currently posting 32.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. As long as AD can stay healthy he’ll have a legitimate case for MVP and Defensive Player of the Year this season.
Kevin Durant, Forward, Phoenix Suns
95 OVR (+1)
Kevin Durant, aka Mr. Consistent, is aging like fine wine in his 17th NBA season. Polished, smooth, and lethal, Durant is gifted in ways few players can relate to. The former MVP and two-time champion makes scoring look so easy, and his efforts shouldn’t be taken for granted. At 36 years old it’s fair to say Durant is on the back half of his NBA career, but he’s consistently operating at a high level, averaging 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. Still hungry and determined to claim another championship ring, Durant looks poised for another monster season.
