Sabrina Ionescu is a basketball player for the New York Liberty of the WNBA. Before joining the Liberty, Sabrina played for the University of Oregon where she was unanimously voted the 2020 AP Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. She is also the only player, male or female, in NCAA history with 2,000 career points (2,562), 1,000 career rebounds (1,040) and 1,000 career assists (1,091). Sabrina was selected first overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty.
In just her third WNBA Season, Sabrina was voted to the 2022 AP All-WNBA First team and was also 2x WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month and WNBA Skills Challenge Winner. She is also currently tied for the all-time WNBA triple-double record (three) after recording two this year. Ionescu tallied the league’s first-ever triple-double in less than three quarters and the first-ever 30-plus point triple-double.
Sabrina is much more than just a basketball player; the 25-year-old star has quickly become one of the most marketable names in all of sports. In March of 2023, Sabrina was announced as the newest Nike Signature Athlete. She will be the first woman to lead a unisex collection for the company. Additionally, with the launch of the SI20 Foundation, Sabrina plans to continue to inspire kids to stay active through sport.
